Gunmen attacks Senator Ifeanyi Uba

On Sunday evening The Senator presenting Anambra South Senatorial District of Anambra State, Ifeanyi Uba was the target of a violent attack that claimed several lives.

The incident happened about 6:00 o’clock. on Sunday at the intersection of the Nkwo Enugwu and Ukwu markets in Anambra’s Njikoka Local Government Area.

The highly armed thugs opened fire on the senator who was traveling in the convoy as he was reportedly returning from an event.

Highly armed thugs were reported to have opened fire on the senator who was traveling in the convoy as he was said to be returning from an event.

According to reports, some of Mr Uba’s aides and some security escorts were killed in the attack.

Verified evidence from a video of the attack on the convoy has also appeared online; it shows at least three people, including a security detail, covered in blood and appearing to be dead.

Although, casualties from the attack is yet to be ascertained.

The Anambra State Police Spokesman Ikenga Tochi is yet to reply text and calls put across to him as at the time of report.

The southern Nigerian state of Anambra has been devastated by insecurity. Attackers thought to be supporting the proscribed separatist group Indigenous People of Biafra have repeatedly targeted public officials and enterprises (IPOB).

However, the group has frequently denied involvement in the crimes.
