Boko Haram strucks Chibok again

Boko Haram militants attacked Takulashi Shikarkir, a community in Chibok Local government area of Borno state.

According to Sahara Reporters, the said militants entered the town on Monday night and opened fire sporadically as hundreds of community residents fled to the forest for safety.

“We don’t have all the details yet but the Nigerian troops are currently engaging the terrorists in Chibok,” a source revealed.

The Chibok community first came to light in 2014 after Boko Haram insurgents attacked a government girls high school in the community and kidnapped more than 200 girls.

While Some managed to escape their captivity, others were rescued through government intervention, but many remain unaccounted for.

In 2022, the town has repeatedly been attacked by various armed group who has kidnapped many residents, especially women and children.

While the military has repeatedly claimed that the rebels were largely defeated, often downplaying casualties, the terror group has caused the death of thousands of Nigerians and the displacement of millions of others, mainly in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.
