Ice Prince to be remanded at Ikoyin Prisom

A Magistrates Court sitting in the Ajah, Lagos State has ordered the transfer of famous musician Panshak Zamani, known as the Ice Prince Zamani, to the Ikoyi Correctional Center for allegedly assaulting a policeman.

Ice Prince was taken to court by the Lagos State Police Command on Friday on three counts of assault, obstruction and kidnapping of a police officer.

The rapper had pleaded not guilty to the charges when read to him.

Judge Taiwo Oyaniyi of the Magistrate court granted him N500,000 bail. He must also provide two sureties, as he is to remain in Ikoyi prison till his bail conditions are met.

The Mutumina singer was arrested on Friday according to the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin.

He said the rapper abducted and assaulted a police officer in the car when the singer was stopped for driving without a license plate.

Hundeyin also stated that the singer allegedly threatened to throw the officer in a river.

“At 3am today, @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station.” The tweet read.

“He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”
