The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission this morning arrested of the Ogun State House of Assembly Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo at the Muritala Muhammad Airport, Lagos State.
According to The Punch, Oluomo was arrested over allegations of offences bordering on financial crimes.
Staff at the state House of assembly who asked to be anonymous said the speaker was picked following a tip-off.
Sources say Oruomo will continue to be grilled in official custody.
He was allegedly on the commission’s wanted list after repeatedly failing to respond to EFCC invitations.
He and several others were accused of forging signatures and financial documents of the State house of assembly.
Attempts to obtain confirmation from the EFCC failed as Ayo Ayo Oyewole, the spokesperson for the zone office in Lagos, refused to take the call.
