Rakim Mayers A.K.A “A$AP Rocky” will face a two count charge of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office said.
Rocky is alleged to have pointed the gun at a one-time friend during an argument in November, 2021.
In the ensuing confrontation between the two, he pulled out a gun and fired twice, leaving a former friend with what police described as “minor injuries.”
Mayers has been ordered to appear in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday.
The 33 year old “Praise the Lord (Da Shine)” artist was arrested over the incident at Los Angeles International Airport in April when he arrived on a private plane from Barbados where he has been on the island with his then-pregnant girlfriend Rihanna.
New York-born Mayers was previously arrested in Stockholm in 2019 over a street fight.
He was held in Sweden for over a month before he received a suspended sentence.
