Good news for Nigerians! The Federal Government has announced a public holiday bonanza for this Easter season. Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, declared both Friday, March 29th and Monday, April 1st as official holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday, respectively.
This announcement comes just in time for Nigerians planning Easter celebrations. But beyond the extra time off, Minister Tunji-Ojo emphasized the deeper meaning of Easter. He highlighted how Easter’s message of love, forgiveness, and compassion goes beyond religion and contributes to national unity and progress.
“These virtues,” the Minister said, “can have a real impact on building a better Nigeria. By fostering unity, reducing conflicts, and encouraging cooperation, we can create a more prosperous future for all.”
The Minister further encouraged Nigerians to extend a helping hand to those less fortunate. He urged acts of charity and generosity to “alleviate the material conditions” of vulnerable Nigerians.
As Nigerians prepare for Easter celebrations, the Minister offered well wishes and urged them to “join hands with President Bola Tinubu’s administration” in its mission to bring sustainable development and prosperity to the nation.
