Where Can You Find the Two Other Sages in “The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker”?

In The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, the protagonist Link embarks on a grand adventure to defeat the evil sorcerer Ganon and save the land of Hyrule. A key part of his journey involves the discovery of the Seven Sages, who each represent a different aspect of the Triforce and have the power to aid Link in his mission. The two sages that Link must find during his quest are part of a group that will help him unlock the full potential of the Master Sword and defeat Ganon.

Among these sages, two key figures—The Earth Sage and The Wind Sage—remain hidden until Link progresses through the game. Here’s where you can find each of them:

1. The Earth Sage: Makar

The Earth Sage, Makar, is one of the two sages that Link must locate in The Wind Waker. He is a small, green, Korok-like character who plays a crucial role in the story. Makar represents the Earth and holds one of the Triforce powers necessary for the final battle against Ganon.

Where to Find Makar

Makar is found in the Forest Haven, an island located in the Forest Region of the Great Sea. This is the same area where you met the Forest Haven’s Great Deku Tree and where Link first encounters the Koroks.

To find Makar:

  1. First, you need to enter the Forest Haven. You can reach the Forest Haven after obtaining the Bombs from the Bomb Shop on Windfall Island.
  2. Once inside, navigate through the forest and defeat the enemies. You’ll eventually encounter a Deku Tree that leads to a hidden passage.
  3. After progressing through the area and solving various puzzles, you will find Makar playing music in a chamber inside the Forest Haven.
  4. To rescue Makar, you’ll need to play the Wind God’s Aria on the Wind Waker to guide him to the Wind Temple.

Makar plays an essential role in the Wind Temple later in the game, and he is the Earth Sage whose powers will assist you in your fight against Ganon.

2. The Wind Sage: Medli

The second sage, Medli, is the Wind Sage and plays a pivotal role in Link’s quest. She is a young Rito woman, and her abilities are tied to the power of wind. She is deeply connected to the Wind Temple, where Link and Medli will work together to unlock the full power of the Master Sword.

Where to Find Medli

Medli is located on the Dragon Roost Island, an area you visit early in the game when you first rescue Prince Komali. However, by the time you need to find her, things have changed on Dragon Roost Island.

To find Medli:

  1. After obtaining the Pearl of the Wind from the Wind Temple, head back to Dragon Roost Island and make your way to the temple.
  2. Once inside the temple, you will be guided to a central room where you’ll find Medli.
  3. She is later revealed to be one of the Wind Sages, and after meeting her, Link can gain her help by playing the Wind God’s Aria on the Wind Waker. Medli’s role is critical in solving puzzles and defeating enemies within the Wind Temple.
  4. Medli is tasked with helping you open the path to the Wind Temple while also providing you with her special ability to fly and help you solve tricky challenges inside the temple.

In The Wind Waker, both Makar and Medli are key characters who help Link unlock the Master Sword’s full potential and defeat Ganon. Makar, the Earth Sage, is found in Forest Haven, while Medli, the Wind Sage, resides in Dragon Roost Island. These two sages play a critical role in Link’s journey, both assisting him directly and helping him navigate the challenges that await in the Wind Temple. By working together with them, Link can gain the strength needed to defeat the evil that threatens the world of Hyrule.
