Aang meets Toph in Season 2, Episode 6 of Avatar: The Last Airbender, titled “The Blind Bandit.”
In this episode, Aang and his friends go to an Earth Kingdom town where they discover Toph participating in an underground Earthbending tournament. Aang is initially unaware of her identity, but he soon learns that Toph is a powerful Earthbender who has been hiding her abilities from her overprotective parents. This episode marks the beginning of Toph joining Team Avatar.
