On Thursday, the Court of Appeal in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, upheld the appeal of Nnamdi Kanu, the arrested leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra.
The court also released and acquitted the outlawed group’s leader.
Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu’s lawyer and human rights activist, verified the news on his Facebook page on Thursday.
“Appeal allowed, Oyendu Mazi Nnamdi KANU, discharged and acquitted. We have won!,” he stated.
