How to insert a Line in Word

To insert a line in Microsoft Word, you have several options:

  1. Using the Ribbon: Go to the “Insert” tab, select “Shapes,” and choose the straight line. Click and drag on the document to draw the line.
  2. Using Borders: Highlight the area where you want the line, go to the “Home” tab, click the “Borders” icon, and select “Bottom Border.”
  3. Typing Shortcuts: Type three hyphens (—) and press “Enter” for a horizontal line. Similarly, typing three underscores (___) or three equal signs (===) followed by “Enter” creates different line styles.
  4. Using the Draw Tool: In the “Draw” tab, use the pen tool for freehand lines.
