How many kilobytes make a megabyte?

1 Megabyte (MB) = 1024 Kilobytes (KB).

This is based on the binary system (used in computing), where:

  • 1 KB = 1024 bytes
  • 1 MB = 1024 KB

However, in some cases (like storage devices), the decimal system is used, where:

  • 1 MB = 1000 KB

But for most computing purposes, 1024 KB is the standard.
