Early Life and Education
Adejumoke Aderounmu was born into a family of five on 26 March in the 1980s, at The Sacred Heart Hospital in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. Her educational journey began at St. Banerdettes Private Schools in Ibara Abeokuta, followed by Abeokuta Girls’ Grammar School in Onikolobo, Abeokuta. She pursued higher education at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations. Aderounmu completed a year of national service in Gombe State. Furthering her education, she was certified in Film Making and Acting from La CinéFabrique, a multimedia school in Lyon, France, in 2017. This opportunity came after winning a Ford Foundation scholarship at the Africa International Film Festival, following her participation in a DSLR Film Making Training for Young Nigerian Filmmakers in 2016. She embarked on her professional acting career after auditioning for Tunde Kelani’s movie “Arugba” in 2008, where she played Princess Mobandele alongside notable actors.
Career
Adejumoke Aderounmu’s acting career gained significant attention in 2016 with her role as Esther in the comedy TV series “Jenifa’s Diary.” She has contributed to over ten movies in both English and Yoruba languages. Apart from acting, Aderounmu worked as an on-air personality for Goldmyne Entertainment, presenting the Box Office TV show under Daniel Ademinokan in 2010/2011. She also contributed to Concert Radio, an online radio station in Nigeria, from 2012 to 2015. Furthermore, she produced and hosted the first season of her TV show “The Lounge with Jumoke” in 2012, an entertainment show featuring celebrity interviews and fashion opinions.

Adejumoke Aderounmu was not married. She passed away on 8 April 2024, at the age of 37.
