Following the crisis rocking African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator Patricia Akwashiki has emerged as caretaker chairman of the party.
However, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Ifenla Oligbinde has described the move as illegal act against the party’s constitution.
She promised that the National Working Committee (NWC) headed by Ralphs Nwosu would respond according to due process.
A faction in the National Executive Committee (NEC) loyal to the party’s presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, yesterday inaugurated a seven-member interim committee to run party affairs ahead of the elections in 2023.
This came amid Kachikwu’s alleged suspension by another section of the party’s NEC to fully support Nwosu’s continued leadership until after next year’s general election.
In her acceptance speech, Akwashiki promised that the party would go more smoothly.
