A man was shot and killed in Abeokuta on Sunday evening in a brazen attack. Ogun State Police spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident on Monday.
Two gunmen emerged from an unregistered Toyota Corolla and approached the victim as he relaxed outside his house. They fired a fatal shot to his head before fleeing the scene.
Responding to the gunshots, neighbors raised the alarm and contacted police. Officers arrived to find the man lifeless in a pool of blood.
Odutola said the man was pronounced dead at the State Hospital, Abeokuta. His body is currently at the morgue for autopsy.
Authorities have not yet made any arrests, but Odutola assured the public that an investigation is underway.
