Police Kill Notorious Kidnapper in Nasarawa

 The Nasarawa State Police Command has announced the killing of a notorious kidnapper in Akwanga Local Government Area.

Police spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Ramhan Nansel, said in a statement on Saturday that the operation was carried out by a joint team of police officers, soldiers, and local vigilantes. The suspect, known as Honor, was the leader of a kidnapping and robbery gang in the area. 

The operation took place on Friday, March 14, at about 10:00 p.m. Security operatives tracked and intercepted Honor near the Akwanga Central Mosque while he was riding a motorcycle. He was fatally shot while trying to escape arrest.

During a search, security forces recovered a Beretta pistol and 12 rounds of 9mm live ammunition. One of his accomplices managed to escape with gunshot wounds, and a manhunt is underway to capture him. The suspect’s body has been taken to Akwanga General Hospital Mortuary for examination.



Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro-Mohammed, praised the security team for their professionalism and teamwork. He urged them to continue their efforts to combat crime in the state.

The police reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order, warning criminals to stop their activities or face serious consequences.
